"The Pirates of Penzance Junior" Print

This timeless musical farce of sentimental priates, bumbling policemen, dimwitted lovers, and an eccentric Major-General focuses on a young pirate apprentice name Frederic.  Follow the dreams and adventures of this merry pirate on stage in this live theater performance.  Prices include lunch and a show.  Birthday party packages available.

Fabulous Fourth at Ferry Farm! Print

Please join us for the third annual Fabulous Fourth at George Washington's Ferry Farm!  Join General George Washington, members of his regiment, and other first-person interpreters for a look into colonial era life, including spinning, weaving, laundry, cooking and a surgeon's tent.  A Native American Indian village will provide a look at how they lived, made tools and told stories.  American Indian flutist Jim Morehouse will provide music.  Frontiersmen will demonstrate how these rough and hardy people helped shape the nation. 

While there, kids can sign a copy of the Declaration of Independence with a quill pen, play games, make crafts, and get their faces painted (10am-5pm).  At 1pm, Cub Scout Tropp #199 of Stafford County will retire the U.S. flage that flew over the archaeology site in 2008.  Free trolley rides will run between Fredericksburg and Ferry Farm.  Ferry Farm will remain open until 5:00pm.  Visit www.ferryfarm.org/events.html for more details on this special weekend.

**The Native American Indians, colonial and frontier interpreters (including George Washington) will be at Ferry Farm Sunday as well.  Regular admission rates apply.

Fireworks July 4th! Print

As is the tradition, on July 4th, fireworks will be launched from the hilss of southern Stafford County in beautiful Pratt Park.  Bring family, friends and a picnic for the best view of the show.  Gates open at 6:00pm.  The University of Mary Washington (UMW) Community Symphony will perform at 8:00pm, leading up to the fireworks - which will begin at dusk (around 9:15pm).  Parking is free at Pratt Park, but be sure to carpool, as space is limited.  **NOTE:  Old Mill Park in the City of Fredericksburg will close to the public at 8:00pm.**

Art Exhibition: Aphrodite Among Us Print

"Evita" - the Musical Print
This dynamic Broadway masterpiece is one of the finest by Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice.  The story follows the live of Argentine political leader Eva Peron through her early acting acreer, rise to power, charity work, feminist involvement and eventual death.  Its powerful score includes Don't Cry for Me Argentina, as well as Requiem for Evita, and Money Kept Rolling In.  Enjoy this live musical from the privacy of your candlelit dinner table.

Birding Tour at Washington`s Ferry Farm Print
Join a fun and informative birding tour!  This is open to anyone interested in our feathered friends and their local habitats.  The beautiful grounds and wooded paths at Ferry Farm are the perfect setting for viewing birds and listening to their songs.  Paul Nasca, a staff archaeologist and resident member of the Fredericksburg Birding Club, will lead the tours and help identify birds seen from among the 135 species that call Ferry Farm home (or at least a vacation spot).  Don't forget to bring your binoculars!  Recommended for ages 12 and over.  Tours occur one Saturday each month:  Aug. 1, Sept. 12, Oct. 17.  See website for last minute changes.
