Stafford, VA—LoK Fashion Academy announces new credentials and opens new LoK Fashion Institute. The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for higher education, recently approved LoK Institute. The new institute will add 1,500 square feet and two employees to the existing LoK Fashion Academy.

“I congratulate the LoK Fashion Academy on the expansion of its operations and the creation of the new institute,” said Stafford Board of Supervisors member Cindy Shelton, Aquia District. “The new institute further diversifies the learning offerings located in Stafford County, and I wish them great success.”

LoK is locally owned and operated by Marie King, who has over 25 years of experience in custom design. Her students specialize in creating special handcrafted designs catering to the desires of the client. LoK students create custom clothing and window treatments and participate in the business side by handling sales and tuxedo rentals.

The institute fosters an environment of creativity, innovation, independent learning, career focus, and international perspective while maintaining a sense of community and inclusiveness. This business continues to serve as an “Academy Bridge” between high school and a four-year university. LoK continues its “Teaching Tomorrow’s Designers Today” mission by preparing students for college as well as a direct career entry through authentic learning and program-based activities based on academic excellence.

LoK Fashion Institute will be having a formal ribbon cutting ceremony led by the Chamber of Commerce and the Stafford County Economic Development Department on March 20, 2018, at 12:00 p.m.
