A courtroom has never been more lively than in this witty musical! The notorious Big Bad Wolf is slapped with a lawsuit by four storybook characters who want to get even—Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs, and the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Represented by the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother, the plaintiffs and defendant clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. You and the rest of the audience are the jury. How will you decide—guilty or not? Lunch and show are enjoyed from private candlelit tables. Select Tuesdays and Thursdays include: July 20 (lunch provided), July 27 & 29 (bring your own lunch)

Guided Tour of Future Stafford Civil War Park

Guided tours of the future Stafford Civil War Park will be offered this summer, giving visitors a rare opportunity to view historic sites much as they were left nearly 150 years ago. Winding through a natural woodland area, the one-mile walking tour includes 3 Civil War fortifications, a corduroy road, encampment areas, and the remains of a stone bridge. Led by members of the Friends of Stafford Civil War Sites (FSCWS), the tours will begin at 9:00am and will last approximately 2-3 hours. All proceeds will go to construction of the park. Upcoming scheduled tour dates are: Aug 14, 28. Tours are limited to 20 participants, so reservations are required. Special group tours can also be arranged.

"Belmont Through a Lens: Photographs by Frances Benjamin Johnston." This exhibition of 18 historic images of Belmont by a pioneering female photographer will be on display from March 27 through June 20. This show will run concurrently with the Fredericksburg Area Museum's exhibit: "History Through a Lens: The Photographs of France Bejamin Johnston" - which is a general survey of Johnston's body of work.

Create Your Own Sculpture - Summer Program

This new group program is available through Labor Day and is appropriate for children ages 6-12. This educational experience runs approximately 90 minutes. Starting times are flexible. After touring Gari Melchers' stone studio, taking a sneak peek in the historic house, and working on an outdoor scavenger hunt, students will create their very own clay garden sculpture. This program (minimum group size is 8) is perfect for summer day camps, day care and scout groups.

Join National Park Service (NPS) historian John Hennessy for a special tour of Aquia Landing - stop #9 in the NPS History at Sunset Tour Series 2010. Aquia Landing is an historic point at the confluence of Aquia Creek and the Potomac River. Learn about the history of this site, from its role as a steamship wharf, railroad depot, and important crossing point for slaves and military armies. Bring a lawn chair, bug spray and water. Back by popular demand, George Washington's Ferry Farm will once again host Saturday Birding Tours. Tours will be led by Paul Nasca - a GWF staff archaeologist and president of the Fredericksburg Birding Club. The tour will begin from the Ferry Farm Visitor Center parking lot, and last about 2.5 hours. Please wear good hiking boots, and don't forget your binoculars, water, sunscreen and bug spray. In the event of rain on the day of the tour, the tour will be cancelled. Upcoming tour dates: September 11, & October 16.

During the second half of August, Art Connected will feature the work of Catherine Johnson, a special guest artist from Gallery 915 in Fredericksburg. Johnson's works include oil paintings of landscapes and still life, with a focus in contemporary realism. Also on display is the work of Faith Gaillot, an artist whose specialties include watercolors and pen & ink drawings. Gaillot's works currently include renderings of the Stafford Courthouse and Aquia Church. There is no admission charged to tour the gallery. All works are available for purchase.
